Close to 9,000 children and teenagers in the United States died from opioid poisonings over the past twenty years, representing a nearly three-fold increase in mortality rates, Yale researchers stated. These findings illustrate how the opioid epidemic continues to evolve and hurt children at the same time as efforts to confront the crisis by treatment and limits on opioid prescribing ramp up, they stated.
